x. … Qe2
The very nice tactic indeed. 🙂
e2
Qe2 looks interesting…
1… Qe2
2. Rf1 Qxf2+
3. Rxf2 Rc1+ mates.
1…Qe2! wins outright.
Kamalakanta
1…Qe2 2.R1b1 Bxf2+ etc.
1. .. Qe2
thanks Bobby and its book
Sorry, i meant “his” of course!
It’s nice a nice puzzle, i think the only line which lasts longer for White is
2. Rbb1 .. Bxf2+
3. Kh1 .. Bxe1
4. Qxc4
Black is probably winning after 1… Qe2 2. Reb1 B:f2+ 3. Kh1 Rd4 but 4. Qf3 reinforces the protection of d1, threatens to exchange queena, and also threatens to grab the initiative with 5. Qc3+.
Still, the threat to exchange queens leads to R+B+6P against 2R + 3P, and white’s three pawns are all isolated.
I don’t see an immediate knockout for black, though.
What about 1… Qe2 2.Reb1 Qxf2+ 3.Kh1 Qc2 ? If the rook gets away, then 4…Qxb3. Also, now White cannot defend against the threat of Qc1+. Am I missing something here?
Cheers,
Bruno
