The 21st Bosnjaci Open 2016 took place from January 3rd to January 9th, in the town of Bosnjaci, Croatia.

The event was a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament, which gathered a total of 177 players from Bosna and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.

The first place was shared in a five-way tie by GM Zoran Jovanovic, GM Ivan Zaja, IM Srdan Sale, IM Ivica Armanda and FM Mario Zovko, after the whole group finished the tournament with 7/9 points. However, Jovanovic clinched the title on a superior tie-break score, while GM Ivan Zaja got second.

WGM Mirjana Medic emerged the best female player with 6 points and 16th place at the final ranking.
