Blind Chess: Matter of seeing with hands
MAKAR SHRESTHA
“In that case, I’ll move my knight.” The conversation is between two blind players competing in a chess championship at the Bhaktapur Durbar Square on Saturday.
Padhma Bhatta of Gorkha, who is currently studying at Padhma Kanya Campus, plays chess despite her blindness. She was playing against Krishna Gopal Chaguthi, who has already participated in the national games. “This is the first time I am participating in a competitive tournament,” said Bhatta as he maneuvered a piece. “Please dai! If you don’t capture this piece,
I’ll win.”
“I don’t want to, but I have no option,” replied Chaguthi replied, moving her piece with the help of both her hands, as blind players usually do.
The two are not the only blind players in the tournament. There are altogether 14 participants.
This is the sixth year in a row that Mangal Sadhan Shrot Parichalan Kendra has organised nation-wide open blind running shield chess championship.
The wooden boards have holes in them to keep the pieces in place. The white pieces have marks on them so that the players can differentiate them from the black pieces.
On the chess board, black pieces are kept on the part with a slight indent while the white ones are kept on the lower part. But while those with vision have to make a move as soon as they touch the piece, the visually impaired players do not have to follow the rule.
“We need good memory to remember where the pieces are by feeling them,” Saptasundar Shakya, one of the participants, said to the Post “Only those with good brains can compete in this game.” Shakya has been playing chess for the last 20 years and participated in 12 national tournaments.
According to Ram Bahadur Bhele, President of Mangal corporation, 14 players from 12 districts are competing in the tournament, out of which two are females.
Sushil Thapa, Sapta Sunder Shakya and Deepak Pradhan are on pole position after winning in two rounds.

Obama’s Birth Certificate, Forgery, Jay McKinnon admits forging, Obama Smears site, israel insider story, Blogger admits Hawaii birth certificate forgery, Audacity of deception
June 27, 2009
Many people for weeks, including myself, have been skeptical of the alleged Obama birth certificate presented on the internet. I have had to present certified copies of my birth certificate on several occasions and the certificate on the internet did not look official.
Why is this important? Obama has been elusive when asked for records in general. However, the big question is where was Obama born, Hawaii or Kenya. Obama may not be eligible to be president. The birth certificate on the internet was an attempt to put that issue to rest. The apparently fake certificate was even displayed on the Obama Fight the Smears website.
The israelinsider.com website has a new article out that announces that the Obama birth certificate is fake and reveals the forger. Here are some excerpts:
“Jay McKinnon, a self-described Department of Homeland Security-trained document specialist, has implicated himself in the production of fake Hawaii birth certificate images similar to the one endorsed as genuine by the Barack Obama campaign, and appearing on the same Daily Kos blog entry where the supposedly authentic document appears.
The evidence of forgery and manipulation of images of official documents, triggered by Israel Insider’s revelation of the collection of Hawaii birth certificate images on the Photobucket site and the diligent detective work of independent investigative journalists (led by JimJ and Texas Darling) and imaging professionals such as Polarik in the three weeks since the publication of the images, implicate The Daily Kos, a “progressive” blog site, and the Obama campaign’s “Fight the Smears” website, in misleading the public with official-looking but manipulated document images of doubtful provenance. Moreover, the blog and the campaign have been negligent in allowing the promotion of obviously forged and fake official documents together with the purported image of Obama’s birth certificate.”

‘Proof’ of Kenyan birth twice scrubbed by eBay
But seller of ‘Obama’s birth certificate’ dodges administrators to post 3rd time

Editor’s note: Since publication of this story, the auction item has been removed for the third time. None of the item identification numbers in this article remain valid.
An eBay seller who previously promised to deliver a certified copy of President Obama’s actual birth certificate – from a hospital in Mombasa, Kenya – has twice had his listing removed from the popular auction website.
In a third listing, however, the seller calling himself “colmado_naranja” has explained why the birth certificate was twice yanked by eBay administration.
“The first cancellation was done in what eBay describes as being in the interests of keeping my account safe,” the newest listing claims, referring to the now scrubbed item # 160344374585. “eBay was under the impression that a third party had accessed and compromised my account, that this third party put up the Barack Obama African birth certificate auction and that I had no knowledge of the said listing.”
Original eBay offer for Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate
As WND reported, colmado_naranja’s original listing claimed, “President Barack Hussein Obama II was born in The Coast Provincial Hospital at Mombasa in Kenya at 7:24 p.m. on August 4, 1961.”
The seller, who according to the eBay rankings has completed dozens of transactions on the behemoth auction site without difficulties, further said this birth certificate is the real deal, obtained while he was traveling in Kenya.
“Kenyans were amused at how gullible Americans could be when it came to obvious things like the fact that Kenyans overtly admit to Barack Jr.’s Kenyan birth, yet the Americans continue to believe that they know better,” colmado_naranja wrote. “I delved further and found that a birth certificate was on file at The Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombasa.”
According to the third, and newest, listing, however, even after calling eBay customer service and restoring the original auction under a new item number, the birth certificate sale was scrubbed again, a second time, for another reason altogether.
Even those critical of the questions surrounding Obama’s birth and eligibility to serve as President noticed, as members of the message board Democratic Underground claimed to have reported the auction to eBay administration as a “forgery and offensive item.”
At some time around 10:30 ET this morning, however, the second auction listing was scrubbed as well.
In the third listing from colmado_naranja, the seller explains, “This time their reasoning for the cancellation was that birth certificates and other forms are government ID are prohibited on eBay.”
