Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Has Judit asked for or received any pledges of Topalov’s good conduct? Considering that he violated FIDE Ethics Rules pretty outrageously in the Kramnik match and received not so much as a slap on the wrist, some precautions would seem in order. Has she, at the very least, gotten a verbal promise from him to behave himself if the match doesn’t go the way he wants? To just ignore the whole thing and hope he doesn’t do it again would seem very unwise, especially if Danailov is near at hand.
@anonymous 1 post above:
She doesn’t need a pledge of his good conduct. If Topalov pulls anything this match, his reputation will be ruined, based on what happened in Ellista.
It is Topalov’s reputation that is at stake, so he has nothing to gain and everything to lose by pulling stunts.
does anyone know at what time the second game starts? 5h30pm for the first one seems late when there are to be two games a day… : /
When are the games played per say NYC time. the 5:30 time must be local time and I dont know how to get to USA time.
any help on this is appreciated. I dont want to miss the games.
If the local time is GMT. sounds good. then NYC is -5 hours. so that would put the games at 12:30 noon time. That might be about right.
They will probably take a short break and then play the 2nd game. rapids might be every hour and half. that would put the 2nd game at about 2 pm New York City time.
The above are only my guess. Hope I am correct. Would be good to hear the correct answers from someone who knows.
bummer. i can’t get the site’s broadcast to work. anyone know if we can see the live games anywhere else?
I suspect that it is not working because it is not game time yet. I hope and expect it will work at game time.
It is now listed on ICC with the games starting at 11:30 New York City time. but it is now almost 12 noon and no moves have come in as yet. it might be there is a problem transmitting the moves.
as of this minute it is on board 1 on ICC. Hope the moves come in.
first move just came in
Topalov played 1 e4 at about 4 minutes to 12 noon on ICC.
Judit responded with a sicilian
1….c5
bye I am going to watch the game. Tons of people watching on ICC
Blindfold, rapid, and a sharp, unbalanced position. Judit trades a knight for three pawns.
again it is off. does anyone have more than 16 Nb5?
As expected, Veselin won easily.
Hoping for a repeat of Essent.
Where I can see live broadcast?

When will the second game begin?
I guess Topalov might win this tournament even though I want Judit to win..He is the wounded tiger. Dangerous and ferocious
Topalov is winning the second game too.
42… e3 was a mistake by Veselin. He was in a winning position but this mistake helped Judit to draw the game.
By the way IMO Veselin is definitely a stronger player.
Someone can say me where do I find these games? ( Judit x Veselin )
Thanks
One more time: another evidence for their incredible blindness capabilities!
Noone to talk about a little chess set hiden in the poket or else? ;o)
GoGoGo Judith!! 4 games left!!
Games (two per day) start at 11:30 NYC time.
