This is actually too easy, but only because I already know the game it comes from (it’s in a book of games that I have: 100 Chess Gems): Blackburne vs. Schwartz (French Defence). So, without further ado: 1.Qxf4 Bxf4, 2.Rxh5 gxh5, 3.Rxh5 & mate to follow!
When I saw this position for the first time, years ago, it took me less than 2 sec to get the solution. It simply had to be Qxf4.
Hi Susan
1. Rxh5, gxh5
2. Rxh5, Nxh5
3. Qg5, Kf8 (3. …, Kh7 4. Qxh5, Kg8 5. Qh8# Mate; 3. …, Ng7 4. Qxg7#Mate)
4. Qh6, Kg8
5. Qh8# Mate
Good day
Hi EVMGDM,
But black just gave check to White. White should first answer this and then go ahead.
