I think I have it: 1… f3 2. exf3 e3 3. Bc4 bxc3 4. Kb3 Bd5.
I might try 1… Ba6 2. Bh5 Bxe2 3. Bxe2 f3 4. B-b5 (or Ba6 or Bf1) e3.
i vote for e3 and then f3
f6 wins for black
1.e3! threatens 2.f3
1…. Bc4 (Bh5 2.f3!)
2.bxc3 Kb3
3.Bd5! pins the black bishop
Now f3 is unstoppable.
Cheers!
Easy, its never a draw in Susans quizzes… So a win for black is a banker 🙂
I would try 1… bc3 2.Kb3 f3 3.ef3 e3 4.Bc4 Bd5! and the pawn on e3 is unstoppable.
1 .. f3
2. Bc4 .. b3 (if 2 ..f2 3. e3)
3. Kxb3 .. Bd5 and the pawn promotes. The resulting ending Q vs B+P could be technically difficult, but won, since the pawn is still on the third row. I should analyze that…
1..f3 2.exf3 e3 3.Bc4 bxc3 4.Kb3 Bd5
it a win for black
1…. e3
2. Bc4 f3
3. exf3 b3
4. Kxb3 Bd5!!! and wins
1. … f3
And now white has three possibilities:
I.)
2. exf3 e3
3. Bc4 bxc3
Ka3 or Kb3 are answered with Bd5, and white can stop only one of the pawns but not both, e.g.
4. Kb3 Bd5
5. Kxc3 Bxc4
6. Kc2 e2 (the king cannot go to d2 and after Kxc4 just e2 and the pawn queens immediately)
7. Kd2
Black will now grab white’s pawn and the white king cannot stop the pawn from queening once black’s king comes.
II.)
2. e3 f2
3. Bc4 bxc3 and then continue as above
III.)
2. Bc4 f2
3. e3 and we have the same position as above
Other first moves by white are simply answered with f2.
How about:
1 .. f3
2 exf3 (2 e3 bxc3 does not help)
2 .. e3!
3 Bc4 bxc3
4 Bd3+ (4 Kb3 Bd5! 5 Bxd5 e2, or 4 Ka3 Bd5! 5 Be2 and now the white king is stuck at a3 to be able to play Kb2 in response to c2, and black’s king can take the f-pawn and exchange the e-pawn for the bishop, while still holding the c-pawn.)
4 .. Be4!! (even if the bishop is taken with check, black wins a tempo! :-))
5 Bxe4+ (5 fxe4 c2 6 Bxc2 e2)
5 .. Kg7
6 Bd3 c2
7 Bxc2 e2 and wins.
very pretty.
1.. f3
2 ef e3
3 Bc4 bc
4 Kb3 Bd5!
and wins.
iMac, after 1… Ba6 2.Bd5 e3 (Bxe2 3.Be4+ K~ 4.Kxb4) 3.c4 White is better.
1…e3 (threatening f3!) 2.Bc4 Bg2! 3.Kxb4 Bf1! 4. Bd5 Bxe2 5.Kb3 Bd1 + 0 1
1…Ba4 2.Bh5 Kh6 3. Bg4 Kg5 and black wins.
