The 2011 Lubbock Open and UIL Chess Puzzle Solving Invitational drew nearly 200 combined participants. Both events are held at the Lubbock Science Spectrum. The top seed are GM Bykhovsky, IM Sipos, and SM Aleskerov, etc.

There was also a big turn out in Lubbock for today’s Lady Raider Womens Basketball Game. The Lady Raiders knocked off the #1 team in the country Baylor 56-45.
The Lubbock Open was great!
