A few weeks ago, Delilah, one of the biggest names on the airwaves, the Oprah of Radio agreed to join the board of the Susan Polgar Foundation. Yesterday, football MVP Shawn Alexander joined the board of the American Foundation for Chess.
“Chess teaches them to think ahead three or four moves,” he said. “It teaches them to have a vision. They learn to say to themselves, ‘If I make this move, this will happen.’ Those are things kids don’t get on their own.”, said Alexander.

Gee, Susan, don’t you ever stop? I watched this blog yesterday and it seemed every few minutes there was a new post. — And not silly stuff, either but posts that you put a lot of care and thought into. I looked at it just before midnite and there was a new post. It is now just before 8 am and I see 3 new ones! Wow!
The WNBA’s Svetlana Abrosimova of the Minnesota Lynx and also a former UConn All-American is an avid chessplayer.
