The event went extremely well. It was a great success with around 500 people in the afternoon at the Palace of Arts http://www.mupa.hu/index.jsp.
Over 120 got the opportunity to challenge my sisters and me in the simultaneous exhibition. Among them were a number of celebrities such as Ivan Fischer (the world famous conductor) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Fischer, Pal Schmitt (in the picture above) http://www.schmitt.hu/ the Chairman of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, Istvan “Koko” Kovacs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istv%C3%A1n_Kov%C3%A1cs and many others.
Among the Grandmasters who came to visit include Portisch, Benko, Pinter, and Bilek, etc. Our 1988 Olympiad Team Captain IM Tompa was also there. He reminded me that next month will be the 20th anniversary of our 1988 Olympiad Team Gold which ended the dominance of the Soviet Women in Chess Olympiad.
Congratulations Susan! You and your sisters are the pride and joy of Hungary.
And the idiot stalker Sam Sloan kept spreading lies and BS and trying to make people believe that the Polgar family has a horrible relationship with the Hungarian Chess Federation.
On the contrary the Polgar sisters are the crown jewels of Hungary. Susan was the only Hungarian ever to win the World Championship. I hope she sues the hell out of him and all the other loons.
It’s a no show without FM Gabor Kallai, the best trainer in history of Hungary.
Tibor Karolyi is also good. He trained Leko from elo 2200-2300 and FM title.
Hi Susan, Can you please give us the results so that we can publish them?
Also, any sample games?
Thanks
Congratulations Susan! You and your sisters are the pride and joy of the world of chess.
