Just one point away from moving to the next round, Gata is in the driver seat in this match. I expected Gata to win the match but the current score is a big surprise.
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.g3 Bb4+ 4.Bd2 (Gata already spent 8 minutes for the first 3 moves.) 4…Be7 5.Bg2 d5 6.Nf3 0-0 7.0-0 c6 8.Bf4 Nbd7 (The most popular response here is 9.Qc2) 9.Qc2 a5 10.Rd1 Ne4 (Still book moves so far but Gata already used 16 minutes more than Bacrot.) 11.Nc3 f5 12.Ne5 Nxe5 13.Bxe5 Nd6 (Gata is doing fine in this position. It is roughly equal. Bacrot actually spends more time than Gata now. The pressure is on him.) 14.Bxd6 Bxd6 15.e3 Rb8 (Black is at least equal here.) 16.c5 Bc7 17.f4 Bd7 18.a3 Be8 19.b4 b5 (White has an edge here but nothing serious for Black.) 20.bcxb6 Bxb6
GATA KAMSKY rules!
He will destroy Bacrot.
He is already destroying him!? According to http://www.fide.com/ratings/id.phtml?event=605506 Bacrot hasn’t played almost anything since a year ago?!
The match is not on … I hope that Kamsky can defeat E Bacrot , and i think that he will won the match, but Gata must stay concentrate !
Kamsky is my man!! Go Gata, go!!
Am I the only one to hope for Bacrot ? Sorry I am French… But I don’t really believe Bacrot could come back… He is not playing energically whereras Kamsky does.
What do y gys think about the position ?
really hard to judge gata’s form
bacrot is playing like an amateur
and kamsky wins!! only a matter of time before we have another american champion.
@gerald roberts – the trivia question is: 200 or 300 years?
