Humpy becomes World No. 2

PUNE: Koneru Humpy has overtaken Women’s World chess champion Hou Yifan in world rankings. The Indian , who won the Grand Prix in Dilijan, Armenia, in an emphatic fashion, is World No. 2 now at Elo 2607. Yifan is seven points adrift.
Hungary’s Judit Polgar continues to be ranked No. 1 at 2696 but she plays in open the section and not among just women. Another Indian D Harika finished eighth with five points (-1 score). She is world No. 20.
