1. Bg2-e4 attacks Qg6 creates a big problem for black. Lose the Q or interpose the Rf5, then 2. BxRf5, if QxRf5, then 3. Rg7 and finally 4. Qd8.
Or maybe Re8+ first, then Be4 works better ?
After arrrr…… 10 minutes…. I give up……temporarily….
1.Be4 QXe4
2.Re8+ Rf8
3.Qxh6 wins
1. Be4 Bf5 and I don’t see a winning line for white.
Same goes for 1. Re8+ Rf8 2. Be4 Bf5
1.Re8+ Rf8 2.Be4 Bf5 3.Rxb8 Rxb8 4.Bxf5 Qxf5 5.Qxh6 with a double mate threat!
@ Viva cuba!: 5…Qh7 prevents both threats and all that is left is a perpetual check for white.
On the other hand, 1.Be4 Bf5 2.Re6! Qh7 3.Rxh6 will do it.
1.Rd8+ Rf8 2.Be4! Bf5 3.Re6 Lxe4 4.Rxg6+ Bxg6 5.Qxh6+-
1.Re8+ Rf8 (1..Kh7?? 2.Rh8#)
2.Rxf8+ Kxf8
3.Qd8+ Kf7 (3..Qe8 4.Qf6+ Qf7 5.Qxd6+ and 6.Qxb8)
4.Qc7+ Kg8
5.Qxb8+ Qe8
6.Qxd6
White is two pawns up in a clear position, which means he is winning.
2.Be4 leads nowhere:
2..Bf5 (2..Qxe8?? 3.Qxh6 and checkmate can’t be avoided)
3.Bxf5 Qxf5
4.Qxh6 Ne5 (or 4..Kf7) stops White’s attack

You are right. After
1.Rd8+ Rf8 2.Be4 Bf5,
3.Re6! works.
So, yours is even better than my line, which ends up being two pawns up.
Greetings,
1. Re8+! Rf8
2. Be4! Qxe8
(2…Bf5 3.Bxf5 Qxf5 4. Qxh6 Qh7 5. Qf8 mate; 2…Rxe8[best try] Bxg6 [but the black Monarch will not last])
3. Qxh6 Rb7 (3… Qe7 4. Qg6+)
4. Qh8+ Kf7
5. Qg7 mate
My Regards.
that wont work as much as you want it to work. one more thing cut out the exclamation marks. let your solution stand on its own. no need to high five yourself when you think its a good move. which is essentially what the exclamation mark is.
Re8+ Rf8
Be4 Bf5
Bxf5 Qxf5
Qxh6 Ne5
heres a simpler solution to grab the rook. theres no mate here.
Re8+ Rf8
Rxf8 Kxf8
Qd8+ Kg7
Qc7+ Bd7
Qxb8
Re8+ Rf8
Rxf8 Kxf8
Qd8+ Qe8
Qxd6+ Kf7
Qxb8
you loser
