After a day of traveling, we finally arrived at the playing site. I immediately met tons of FIDE (Mr. Sand, Vega, Balgabaev, Makropolous, Azmaiparashvili, etc.) and Global Chess officials (Mr. Borg), many old friends and colleagues and Jorge and Veronica, the organizers. It is a very nice venue located in the historic downtown area. There are plenty of security, at least 50-100 policemen outside of the hotel.
