Carlsen is clear underdog in the Rapids against Aronian. Aronian beat Kramnik in Rapids lately.
Gelfand and Kasimjanov will continue to draw. My belly says Kasim will advance.
Adams will lose to Shirov.
Aronian, Gelfand, and Adams will win their tiebreaks according to my predictions.
Then we will have second round matches..
Aronian- Adams Good match, Adams is hard to beat.

As a norwegian I of course hope Magnus advances,but I really like Aronian;I’ve met him and he is really sympathetic – so I won’t be too disappointed if tomorrow will turn out as Aronians day.
Further I’m certain Aronian saw the draw after Rg2 but allowed it anyway since maybe his confidence in his position was slipping.
Maybe not the best decision since Rc4 would still give good winning prospects(Rybka)
Before the match started I gave Aronian 60% to elimimate Carlsen but tomorrow I give him at most 55% – he won convincingly against Kramnik in their recent rapid match but Carlsen also has excellent results lately in his rapid games.He came in 3th(ahead of Aronian) in the rapid part of the Melody Amber,only half a point behind Kramnik;and he was equal in the rapid games of his match with Radjabov(losing the armageddon game) – a player just as good as Aronian.
I predict very close and tense rapid games tomorrow but if any of the players can control their nerves better than the other – then that player will have a considerable advantadge!
My vote is for Carlsen, Kasimdzhanov, and Adams
Aronian has shown himself to be a fabulous rapid player, perhaps second only to Anand. I would definitely favour him for the playoff, though I would be surprised and delighted if Magnus pulled off an upset.
Shirov-Adams my guess is Shirov is a better rapid player than Adams. I wouldn’t stake my life on the final result though.
Gelfand-Kasimdzhanov is a tossup. I wish both players luck as I don’t really have a horse in this race.
I think Judit needs to sudy with someone like Kramnik for a few months or something. See always seems to mess up in the “Dry as Dirt” end games that people like Kramnik love.
If she could combine her attacking style with Kramnik’s end game ability she would be world chamion for sure!
One way or another young Carlsen gained lot of ELO points due to 3:3 score vs Aronian who is 2760 ELO.
Aronian will win rapid sequence.I’m quite certain.
He is simply fantastic at that time control as he has showed many times before.
Aronian will just kill !!!

Aronian, Adams, and Gelfand I expect to come through the tiebreaks tomorrow.

Kasimdzhanov proved before that he is strong in tiebreaks, which might give him to much confidence. Gelfand has always been a strong rapid player I feel that Gelfand is going to outplay him in the tiebreak.
Shirov will probably sacrifice another exchange, after which his candle will slowly douse. But I do hope that it will make big flames instead.
