Grischuk defeated Aronian in playoff game 1. Aronian defeated Grischuk in the second. Who is better in faster time control? Is his chance in the playoff to advance to the next round of the candidates’ matches getting better or worse?
Sorry for the earlier confusion. I am on the road and had internet glitches. Please feel free to update the results for me. Thank you!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
?! – the match is still going on?
Why do I still see them playing at the online official transmission?
I don’t think this is correct. They are still playing.
Mistake, they’re still playing. It’s a 4 games match
is that right? chessbomb says different.
Carlsens point is quite evident. Look at the results.
But congrats to all…specially Gata..who I STILL think is very underestimated.
Aronian lost. Grishuck is through!
Its Official: Aronian is out of the tournament. Grishchuk advances
Grischuk has advanced to semifinals.!
It is Kramnik vs Grischuk in the other
semifinal.!
Topalov will win this one!
The final four were all born in the Soviet Union. Probably the last time that will ever happen again.
I predict a K-K finals and an exciting Anand-Kamsky WC match.
Carlsen is right. This is not the way to decide challenger. Many chess lovers are disappointed by players attitude of not losing a game in this short version. Anand would have definitely lost in this had he joined others. If this is the format FIDE decides to stick to, the event could be annual. Short time controls should have no place in World Championship.
It would have been a feast to chess lovsers to watch Anand-Carlsen or Anand vs — Carlsen vs Aronian
