FIDE Grand Prix in Yerevan

FIDE is pleased to announce that the Armenian Chess Federation has agreed to organise one of the FIDE Grand-Prix tournaments from 8th to 24th August 2009 in Yerevan.
The worldwide chess community is thankful to the President of the Armenian Republic, H.E. Serzh Sargsyan for his valuable support.
The nominee of Armenia is GM Vladimir Akopian. FIDE and Global Chess continue to work hard in order to secure funding for all the remaining legs of the Grand-Prix 2008-2009″
