  Yes, I remember this one from a few months ago. The key was to buy time for fe7 since black is threatening mate with Qg2 and Bf6 leaving black up a piece. That is all I will write in this comment.

  The answer is the suprising looking

  1. Bd5

  If black takes with the e-pawn, white simply plays ef7:

  1. …..ed5
  2. ef7

  And white will get a queen or a mate:

  2. ……Nde6
  3. Be5 with mate to follow on one of the next 2 moves. Or

  2. ……Nfe6
  3. Qh7# Or

  2. ……Qg8
  3. ed8(Q) Or

  2. ……Qe8
  3. ef8(Q)Qf8
  4. Qh7#

  And it does black no good to take at d5 with the queen:

  1. …..Qd5
  2. Nf7 Nf7
  3. Qd5 Bd5 (ed5 same reply)
  4. fe7 and white will get a queen one way or another.

  Three things to see first:
  – the threat Qxg2#.
  – white can’t ommit this with check in every move.
  – the shot fxe7 would be winning if time for it.

  Now it is natural to stop the threat Qxg2# in some enforcing way, therefore 1. Bd5 is a natural looking move here, winning a tempo, with the plan to exchange queens an then get a new queen, after 1. … Qxb5.
  However, black must not take on b5.

  E.g:

  1. Bd5 Qd7 protecting e7 threat, but Bd5 blocks the threat Qd1, is the important weakness here….

  2. Nxf7+

  A)
  2. … Nxf7
  3. Qxf7 Bxf6
  4. Qxf8#

  B)
  2. … Kg8
  3. Nh6+ Kh8
  4. Qq4 and mate on g8 to follow next.

  I wanted to play Nf7 first and Bd5 afterwards. Is that a valid alternative or did I miss something?
