The drawing of lots of the 21st Ciudad de León chess tournament was held yesterday at the Conde Luna Hotel of León, Spain. World Champion Viswanathan Anand will play against Spanish Francisco Vallejo Pons in the first semi-final which will be played today.
Ukrainian Vassily Ivanchuk will meet Spanish Alexei Shirov in the second semifinal which will take place on May 31st.
The semi – finals and final will consist in 4 games each. In case of a final draw, there will be tie-break games (5 minutes for each player).
