As I reported earlier here https://chessdailynews.com/the-match-will-take-place-in-sofia/, Anand will face Topalov in Sofia in May 2010. Who do you think will win this match?
Here is the coverage by our friends at Chessdom.com: http://tournaments.chessdom.com/topalov-anand-2010
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
The match is scheduled for April, not May.
For what it’s worth (my prediction) I think Anand can take him!
I think Anand’s reign is slowly coming to an end. It’s not so much the age, but his motivation. I don’t think he will be as motivated as he was for the match against Kramnik. In fact Kramnik motivated him all by himself with his ridiculous claims that the title is only worth if won in a match, that he just lend his title to Anand, acting like somekind of co-champion and so on. Kramnik’s statements were the best motivation for Anand, as he confirmed this after the match. I have my doubts if he will have the same motivation for this match against Topalov. If Anand manages to win this match, he will surely lose the next one.
Yet another waste of taxpayer money. Poor Bulgarians…
Then again, I’m Canadian and the winter Olympics are in Vancouver next year, an even more gigantic waste of taxpayer money. 🙁
Vishy should win comfortably,Topy at big strategical disadvantage.
Don’t under-estimate Topalov. He will have been official FIDE world number 1 for 2.5 years (to Anand’s 1.5 years) and with the highest ever rating achieved by anyone bar Kasparov (although Carlsen might overtake that soon)
Topalov is by no means an underdog.
Breaking news: Sofia retracts offer after consultations with Magnus Carlsen!!

Topalov should hire Tibor Karolyi, trainer of Peter Leko.
I want to see Carlsen take on Anand instead of Topalov!
It is very glad information, that in such deep crisis so litle popular game as chess has its World Championship for 3 milions dolar. Thank you Bulgarial PM.
Although I am a fan of Anand, I would have been also glad if Topalov won.
He changed from the Mexico time and he should get another chance.
This WCC is very important for both Anand and Topalov, because the WCC next WCC candidate tournament and match could be delayed for a long time, due to the crisis.
Topa is good…but not that good. Very, very strong, certainly, but I’ve always thought he was a tad overrated. Anand is clearly better, yet Topa is like 2807 now while Anand isn’t even over 2800. But I think Anand will get to show his muscle here. I’m confident he will win–not a blowout, just a comfortable win.
Viswanathan Anand will crush Weaselin Bottomalov. Go Anand!
Though Topalov is a superb player, at 2800+, he is a bit overrated. Anand has all the talent and the ability to come out on top and my bet is on Anand to retain the world title! Go Anand!
After a 40 hour road journey to Sofia, Annad must have been feeling very tired. It’s a pity the organizers didn’t postpone the match…what harm would a few days more do? Haven’t they heard of rescheduling! If it had been the other way round, and topalov had asked for a rescheduele, would thye have been more accommodating..I think so.
ANAND IS THE WORLD’S BEST CHESS PLAYER AFTER KASPAROV. HE DESERVES TO WIN THE FINAL AGAINST TOPALOV.
I THINK 7-5 WILL BE THE FINAL RESULT IN FAVOUR OF ANAND.
