In a poll taken before the World Championship, about 66% voted for Anand (over 1,500 votes). Now that Topalov has tied up the match with only 4 games to go, what do you think? Will the momentum help Topalov have a strong finish or will Anand regroup to pull it out in the next 4 games?

May the best man win !
a nice way to increase the users’ hit? i do not see any chess logic in this poll. both are strong players and i’m amazed by topalov’s fighting capacity and spirit.
This is actually an interesting situation. I think Topalov will finish strong.
i am against rapid playoff. in my opinion the world champion should win the title under normal time control. if at the end of 12, 24 or whatever number of matches the score is equal, then the champion should retain the title since the opponent did not win it.
No point in polls. At this level (Carlsen,Kramnik, Aronian,Anand,Topalov and a few others),any one can win on a given day. Just a matter of circumstance and a bit of luck.
Yeah but u restricted by traditional analisis, and using tricks and words and givin stories about hotels and showin swimmin pools on chessbase, and posing and providing stories about an old ratin system, its all good though, go head do ya thing, i aint mad at ya.
Topalov deserves the big crown because his style. He is more afraid of a draw than of a loss, so he always goes forward. Anand seemed too cautious in his two consecutives games as white, and I think he would be punished over the board by his attitude. But of course, Topalov’s kamikaze style could prevent him of a victory, if he just overpush too hard. Let’s see what happens.
I disagree with comment 7.
If Topalov were in the UFC, I’d root for him, but since this is chess, I prefer Anand, who plays the better games.
I don’t enjoy watching scrappy games with no idea where one player waits for a mistake.
Susan, you remember the match Smyslov-Hubner from 1983?It was a match determined by the spin of a roulette wheel…Result was 7-7.
Now, in modern chess times,we have Armageddon(or”Sudden Death”)5 min White versus 4 min Black and draw mean victory for black!Maybe is more fair then roulette…
More people voting for Anand just shows that he is more popular. He is people’s champion as we used to call Diana the people’s princess. But the fact is that anybody can win the title at this point of time. Though overall Anand’s play is better, in a given day Topolov can beat him. It is not always the best or deserving who wins a match. Even if Anand or Topolov wins it, it does not mean one is better than the other. This is just title of honour. I just hope we get some more wonderful games and the most deserving man wins.
But I think Anand will be more graceful in defeat than Topolov.
anand is a past master in strategy He is waiting for the opportunity todraw level in the final game and go in for the tiebrk where his exprtise in rapids will stand him in good stead
