I have never been a big fan of Kramnik’s, but I must say that his handling of these press conferences after two very tough losses has earned my respect. I actually felt a little sorry for Vishy; noone seemed to care what he thought about the game. They are both great championships and I hope we’ll see much more exciting chess. I had thought (and hoped)Vishy would play 1. e4, but at +2 I fear he will stick with 1. d4.
Can Kramnik put up a fight after these two shocking loses is the big question.
Fischer started 2 – nill down in the famous 1972 match, so there still hope. Having to win 3 games without a lost to take the lead with be a big ask for “Vlad”
An amazing show by Anand, especially after the worst ever tournament performance by a World Champion in history in bilbao.
interesting enough my friend is a big Anand fan, and I am a big Kramnik fan.
I thought I had a bad dream when I awoke this morning after last night (night where I am) game. Sadly a quick check on the net revealed it wasnt a bad dream 🙁
I wonder if theres a certain former World Champion planning his comeback if big “Vlad” loses this match ?
Read anonymous’s comment with interest here…why is he wondering whether a ‘certain’former world champion is planning a comeback??Can’t stand an Asian world champion or what?
Kasparov retired from chess after being unable to get a rematch with Kramnik.
If Kramnik loses, and is out of the picture, Kasparov maybe keen to regain his former World title !?
What i find interesting is that kramnik didn’t know he was losing right until anand moved his arm to play Ne3 .
After that you can see the Oh Sh@! look on his face lol
