The Amber Super Rapid and Blindfold Tournament will resume today with Topalov, Aronian and Ivanchuk in the lead, followed by Anand. The young phenoms are holding their own against the world’s elite. Carlsen is at even score while Karjakin is at -1 for now. The biggest surprise so far is the performance of Morozevich.
Leaders in Blindfold Chess:
1-4. Ivanchuk, Kramnik, Topalov, Carlsen 2½/4
Leaders in Rapid Chess:
1. Aronian 3
2-5. Anand, Leko, Topalov, Ivanchuk 2½
Full Combined Standings:
1-3. Topalov, Aronian, Ivanchuk 5
4. Anand 4½
5-7. Leko, Carlsen, Kramnik 4
8-10. van Wely, Mamedyarov, Karjakin 3½
11-12. Gelfand, Morozevich 3
For me the biggest surprise is the performance of Kramnik. He looks anything but dominant. Anand must be feeling good about his chances for upcoming match.
The young phenoms are holding their own against the world elite because the young phenoms are in the world elite.
Can you tell us more about Mr. David Kaplan and “Chess Lane”? Thank you.
