Algeria: African Youth Chess Championship – Algeria Snatches 14 Medals, Including 4 Gold

Algiers — The Algerian chess players snatched 14 medals (4 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze) at the African individual Chess Championship, which took place from 20 to 28 December in Tunis, said Monday the Algerian Chess Federation.

The gold medals were won by Wassel Bousmaha in the U10 category, Sofiane Adrar (U12), while the two other medals were won by the two sisters Rania (U12) and Lina Nasr (U14).

The five silver medals were snatched by Dina Abdi Zineb (U18), Amina Maouchi (U16) and Manel Nasr (U8) in the girls’ events, while Yaristan Yettouche (U10) and Ahmed Nasr (U16) won in the boys’ events.

Lilia Khoulalene (U8), Benyahia Safin (U8), Araoun Saadi (U14), Ouaret Abdelouhab (U16) and Nassr Ali (U18) snatched the bronze medals.

The delegation was led by Ali Ahmed Rachid and coaches Belkacem Krim, Nassr Nasr and Bousmaha Abderrahmane.
