For some reason everytime I look Pono is like -100, -200, -50 or whatever in a tournament, yet his rating never dips below 2700. What’s up with that?

Do not forget that the ratings are updated only every three months, with the next ones coming out in July.
After M-Tel, and perhaps AeroSvit, he may be revisiting the high 2600’s and not dwelling in the land of the 2700’s.
