Black’s pieces look more active to me, with the exception of his rook on a8. White’s knight on a4 doesn’t seem to be doing anything useful.
Will Adams play Qh6 and try to weaken the Black kingside pawns, or Qg5 to prevent Black from castling? Perhaps Qh4, which threatens both!
After White’s queen moves, can Black play exd5, leaving him with a massive advantage in the centre? I think that’s what I would do as Black, e.g. 18.Qh4 exd5 19.Qxh7 e4 20.Qxg6+ Kd8. Of course that leaves White with two passed pawns.
Great position and I’m glad they won’t be able to wimp out with a draw any time soon!
Intuitively: I prefer black.
Reasons:
half open f file
better center( that’s my prognosis)
Q side castle possiblity.
My gut feeling tells me to play Qa6 here to play for threats on the kingside, but I also know it is important to hold the center… I prefer white because his pieces are more mobile and black’s doubled pawns appear to be a weakness more than they are a strength.
I think I agree with Jon. Black is in a better position! I love chess!
In other words, if this were the starting position of a new game, would the game ever catch on?
I would take Black here because of the better piece placement supporting a phalanx of central pawns. The centralized king is a hindrance while the queens are on the board, but an asset once the queens are exchanged.

Drawn! I’d take any side
adams looks to have opens files for his rooks and a queen in a powerful position.

hard to say theres any advantage for white. there might be but i cant see much.
I’d definitely prefer to play white here. Although black will acquire a strong center, it will only be temporary, as white has much more mobility and black’s pawns lack stability. Congrats to Adams for trying to win- and almost succeeding.
