1 Qh6!! almost forces mate.
…Nd6 is the only saving move.
Now some knight move to undermine the defender with RxN should win.
Ng5 looks strong, but …Qxf6 and Black relaxes the mate threat. So:
2 Nd6 also threatens RxN so black can’t stop to take the knight, but it also forks the black queen and rook. Black can try to trade queens with Qf4, but then QxQ, NxQ; RxR+ and white is up a rook and black almost mated.
Nd6
RE1XRE8 +
KG7 – BLACK KING
QH6+ WHITE QUEEN
RH8++
Nd6
RE1XRE8 +
KG7 – BLACK KING
QH6+ WHITE QUEEN
RH8++
Qh6
Ng3
I think it could start with Qh6 Ne6 Ng5 threating Qg7+! or Qh7+ or if black knight moves Rxe8+
1. Qh6 Ne6
2. Nd6! Qxf6
3. Nxe8, winning the rook, or
2 … cxd Rxe6
1 Qh6 Ne6
2 Nd6 Pxd6(?)
3 Rxe6 1-0
Qh6 looks good to me.
Wouldn’t Qh6 threaten mate? the only defense is …Qxf6 which loses the queen.
i found something nice:
1. Qh6 Ne6
2. Nd6 cxd6
3. Rxe6 and mate
if 2. … Qxf6
3. Nxe8 simply winning a rook.
greets, jan
1. Qh6 Ne6 2. Ng5 should do the trick
White should play Qc2! and Rc1!! to double up on the weak pawn on c7.
Qds-h6 should effectivwly win the game
1. Qh6 Ne6
2. Nd6 cxd6
3. Rxe6 1-0
qh6 ne6
ng5 should win
1.Qh6 Ne6 2.Nd6 c:d6 3.R:e6 1-0
I would play 1 Qh6 Ne6 (forced) 2 Nd6 forking King and Queen. 2 … cxd6 is met by 3 Rxe6, and Black can’t prevent both of the threats Rxe8# and Qg7#.
I suppose Black can try to soldier on with 2 … Qxf6, hoping to trap the Knight after 3 Nxe8 Qe7 (3 … Qd8 4 Rxe6), but then one way to win easily is 4 Qg7+ Nxg7 5 Rxe7 with an extra Rook in an endgame (e.g. 5 … Ne6 6 Nxc7 Kf8 7 Re8+ and it really is all over).
1.Qh6! Ne6 2.Nd6! cxd6 3.Rxe6! and 4.Qg7 mate
1. Qh6 Ne6
2. Nd6! 1-0
1. Qh6 (threatens 2. Qg7#)
There are only three ways to stop the mate: 1. … Qxf2+, 1. … Qxf6, and 1. … Ne6.
1. … Qxf2+ I think we can ignore.
1. … Qxf6 fails to 2. Nxf6#, and…
1. … Ne6
2. Ng5! (threatens Qh7#) and Black cannot cover both g7 and h7.
Looking for g7:
1. Qh6 Ne6 (protecting g7)
2. Nd6 Qxf6 (otherwise 3. Rxe6)
3. Nxe8 Qe7
4. Rxe6 fxe6
5. Qxg6+ Kf8
6. Nf6 Qf7
7. Qxf7+ Kxf7
8. Nxh5 +-
Alas, my previous comment fails to:
1. Qh6 Ne6
2. Ng5? Qxf6!
and I don’t see how White can make progress.
But I think
2. Nd6!
forking the Black Queen and Rook, and discovering an attack on the Ne6 (remove the guard!) should do it.
1.Qh6 Ne6
2.Ng3 Queen any move
3.Rxe6 with chechmate on g7.
Try again 1.Qh6 Ne6
2.Nd6 cxd
3.Rxe6 threatening mate
on g7.
