The Chess in the Schools and Communities International Conference in Aberdeen will start tomorrow. Tonight was a big dinner with about 30 attendees / speakers of the conference. It was great meeting many people who have the same interest in chess and education from all over the world. Some of the people who were at the dinner include GM Jonathan Rowson (former British Champion and originally from Aberdeen), Leo Battesti (Organizer of the big annual Corsica chess event), our friends from Castlemaine chess in Australia, a group from Belarussia, Dr. Tim Redman (UTD), Jerry Nash (USCF Scholastic Director), and many others. I will update you with the activities at this wonderful conference. Special thanks to Mr. David Leslie for putting this special project together. He also met us at the airport and brought us to our charming hotel.
