Feliz Navidad!
A Catholic tradition, not Mexican. In January 6th we commemorate the Three Wise Men day, same as the Santa Claus day at USA, when three magician kings from Far East visited Jesus when he was born in Belen (25th December). They gave him three presents: gold, incense and myrrh. =>Here are some photos of a procession (‘cabalgata’ in Spanish) of the Three Wise Men at Spain.
Marry Christmas from Spain!
Los Tres Reyes Magos.. very popular in South America, Spain, and Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic.. just like in the States you leave food for Santa and the reindeer, you leave food for the Wiseman and the Camels..
Three Rings from chess kings under the sky,
Seven knock-outs for journey GMs, weary to the bone,
None from mortal men, whom did try,
One from the Dark Lord, on his dark throne
In the Republic of Kalmykia, where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One Ring to bring all GMs and in the darkness bind them
In the Republic of Kalmykia, where the Shadows lie.
