I can only imagine what that kid who spiked the ball too early must have felt.
Listen well, kiddies. Just because field goals aren’t often returned doesn’t mean the cannot be returned. And if you return one, you better hold onto it.
If you’re trailing by 50 points in basketball with less than 10 seconds left on the clock – believe you me, IT IS over.
If you’re trailing by 200 points in ten-pin bowling after the 9th frame, then, indeed, IT IS over.
The “it’s not over till it’s over” rhetoric does not apply to every sport, especially sports played within a time limit.
