I think Yifan will definitely learn from your legendary experience. Hope someday she can become a real threat to top male chess players, just like Judit and yourself.

Yifan should get a better coach. Her rating hasn’t been improved for a while. Here is an interesting interview link from NH chess:

Yifan’s Coach is rated 2503. I know that’s not the “be-all and end-all,” but it is telling that the other coaches in this event have higher ratings. It’s clear that her coach is holding her back. This is a crucial time in her development, and her team seriously needs to consider a new coach if she is to reach her potential.
Yifan should come to America and spend 6 months training with a premier trainer like Susan to break through the next level.
I totally agree that Yifan needs a better coach. Not sure what the plan that General Coach of china (Ye Jiangchuan) lay out for her. I think she should get training from Susan for at least a while, anyone knows Mr Ye?
Super win by Hou. I totally agree that she now needs imputs from a few different top coaches,else she might stagnate like Humpy did. Humpy’s dad did a great job,but is too egoistic and will not let go of his daughter (or his money?)Pity as Humpy’s game has the look of a beached whale now.

GM Ye Jiangchuan is well-known in China from an “older” generation. I remember seeing him on national TV giving chess lessons back in the 1980s.
