A quite complected postion, i think white should start with :
1.Rh6! gxh6 (what else?)
2.Bxh6 f6
3.Rf1 with a very strong attack.
Pharaoh
Rh6 gh6
Bf6.. Threat Qh6 and Qg7/Qh8
Rh6 Ph6
Qh6 f6
Bf6 Tough to stop threats…
Qh7? Qg5+ Kf7 Bg5
Also threat is Qh8 with Bh5 or Qg7#
A. Baburin is doing a great job at chess today. I admire his dedication to the game.
Thanks for this puzzle and all the others from chess today.
This is too complicated for me, but I do feel that Rf1 shows promise, the strategy being to keep black’s queen, rooks and f pawn at bay while gathering troops.
However, I don’t have an answer for
1 Rf1 Be3
In fact Be3 is a defense against 1. Rh6 gxh6 2. Bf6 as well.
1.Rh6 gh6 2.Bf6 with the idea of 3. Qh6 and black can’ t stop both mate threats
This is incredibly belated, but: why not 1. Nf4? The idea is that, if the Knight is taken, you can advance the pawn and use the Bishop to threaten h7.
I took a look and there are some lines that look fairly-good-to-very-good for White if Black accepts the offer; the problem with Nf4 is that I don’t know what I’d actually DO with the Knight from f4.
So, uh. Suggestion withdrawn, on second thought.
