9th Bone Blitz Tournament in Ćuprija

The 9th Bone Blitz tournament was played on 31st August in Ćuprija, Serbia. This was the first FIDE rated event in Ćuprija since 1986.

The tournament was organized to honor Miroslav Milenkovic Bone, retired French teacher and Serbian chess legend, who won many competitions in France, Italy and Bulgaria, including twice the Championship of Paris in the mid 50′s.

At the age of 81, Bone is still actively playing for the local club Radnicki in the Central Serbia League.

After 11 rounds of play, IM-elect Dejan Brankovic (OSK Paracin) and Vladimir Stefanovic (SK Kablovi) shared the first place with 9,5 points each.

Brankovic took the winner’s trophy and top prize on better tie-break score. This is his third victory in the traditional tournament.

FM Dragan Dinic (SK Paracin) finished on third place with 8 points, while FM Slobodan Radosavljevic (SK Kablovi) is fourth with 7,5 points.
