Why does Anand have too few votes? He’s the world champion.
Why not So Weasley
Magnus is not bad, but since he won’t play in the USA, he should not get the Chess Oscar. I vote for Anand!
And when did the chess Oscar have anything to do with the US?
Reasons why Magnus is THE player of the year:
– Won Nanjing with 3000 plus performance rating (2,5 points ahead of Topalov), one of the best in chess history
– Second place at Tal Memorial (just 0,5 points behind Kramnik)
– Won London Classics (defeated Kramnik in round one, in what many considers to be one of the best games of the year)
– Reached the number one spot on the official FIDE lists (2810, will be updated in january), as the youngest in history
– The youngest player ever to surpass 2800 FIDE ELO.
– Won the World Blitz Championship (one of the toughest ever) in a convincing manner (Kramnik, Anand, Karjakin and Grischuk were all beaten 2-0).
Why question democratic votings?
