The Olympiad in Germany!

In 2008 it is Dresden’s move to host the 38th Chess Olympiad. From 12 to 25 November 2008 the stars of the international chess elite will be guests in Dresden and for two weeks millions of eyes worldwide will home in on the tournament and its grand games.

Besides chess grandmasters like Wladimir Kramnik and Viswanathan Anand more than 1500 players will participate in the most important team competition of chess in order to get the title. A special focus should be placed on the playing venue: all chess games will take place in the International Congress Center Dresden, in a unique setting directly on the Elbe river banks of the Old Town – Church of our Lady, Semper Opera and Castle all within range of sight.

The hospitality for our sponsors combines sports and culture – a bridging of the sportive excitement of the tournament to relaxation afterwards.
