The 6th Gibraltar Junior International Chess Festival is set to take place from 18-23rd August, 2016, at the Caleta Hotel, venue of the famous Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival.
The number of participants is limited and only players rated under 2300 FIDE (1st May) are eligible to compete.
The Festival will have two main sections:
A) Open to competitors aged under 16 on 1 January 2016 (born in 2000 or later)
B) Open to competitors aged under 12 on 1 January 2016 (born in 2004 or later)
The total prize fund for both sections is £12,000.
The playing format is 6 rounds per event. Time Control: All moves in 1 hr 50 minutes plus 10 seconds per move.
