Thank you for covering this event. I wish the USCF could be more efficient.
I love the names. They are so anglo-saxon.
I’m really looking forward to this year’s Championship, where the women will go head-to-head for the first time in a number of years. There is a spread of age and experience in the 10 players and I look forward to a lot of exciting chess. Kudos to Mr. Frank Berry and the Berry brothers for supporting U.S. women’s chess; without Mr. Berry, there would not have been a U.S. Women’s Championship this year. I hope that in future years, and with the changes I anticipate to the Executive Board of the USCF after the current elections are concluded (hopefully you all voted for Susan Polgar and her recommended slate of candidates), we won’t need to wonder whether a Women’s Championship will take place, and this traditional tournament will live on for many years to come.

Can Susan win this if she takes part in it?
