Go Magnus! Awesome talent for sure and a pleasure to watch him getting better and better…
On the issues of training, can someone explain how a coach of a lesser rating can work and teach a higher rated player. If the goal is to impart knowledge surely carlson is stronger than his trainer and thus has nothing new to learn. Wouldn’t he be better off having a coach with a stronger rating? Same applies to other player/coach systems. Thanks
Almost every teacher has more talented students in every class they teach.
Tiger Woods has a coach, all the golf, tennis, etc. pros have coaches.
Someone might know how to do something without being so good at doing it themselves. Or they know things the student does not know, etc.
Magnus is probably the most talented player of all time. Think of it: He learned chess much later than, say, Karjakin and Kaspy. He spends more time playing football and doing schoolwork than chess training. Nothing like Fischer’s total devotion to chess. What if this kid hat got a Karjakin like chess training from 6 years?
