WANG YUE AND LI CHAO B LOST THEIR TIE BREAK GAME DUE TO THE LATE APPEARANCE
The two Chinese players Wang Yue and Li Chao b were late for the 2nd games of the tie breaks against Vugar Gashimov (AZE) and Etienne Bacrot (FRA) respectively. According to the FIDE regulations the games were forfeited.

Stupid Rule , isnt it . As watcher of the broadcast i want to see games no forfeit`s ( nevertheless they earned 16.000 US$ for loosing 3rd round ) . On the other hand you can pre-date “byes” at tournaments , wtf ?

Too late is too late, at last a simple rule and clarity. It’s their work and we have to be in time too. They can even sleep some hours longer!

Not sure it made any difference to the final result. Gashimov and Bacrot seemed to be doing fine.
