The 18th Voronezh International Chess Festival Alekhine Memorial is taking place from 10th to 21st June, 2014 at the Voronezh Chess Club, in the city of Voronezh, Russia.

The Festival is split into 6 tournaments:

Chess 960 (Fischer Chess) on 10th June – 7 round Swiss with a time control 15′ + 3” and a first prize of 10 000 RUB;

Rapid Tournament on 11th June – 9 round Swiss rapid with a time control 15′ + 2”. The winner of this group will be awarded 20 000 RUB;

Blitz Tournament on 17th June – 11 round Swiss Blitz with a time control 3′ + 2” and a top prize of 10 000 RUB;

Master Open from 12th to 21st June – a 9 round Swiss with a time control 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1. This Section is open to all players, rated over 2199 and it is a Stage of ACP Tour 2014 and Russian Cup 2014. The winner will be granted 180 000 RUB;

FIDE Open from 12th to 20th June – 9 round Swiss open to all players rated below 2201. The time control will be 90 minutes per player plus 30 seconds per move starting from move 1. First prize is 25 000 EU;

“Sail of Hope” from 13th to 19th June – 7 round Swiss tournament for people with disabilities. It will be played at the “Sail of Hope” center with a time control 75 minutes per player plus 30 seconds increment. The best player will receive 10 000 RUB.
