1. c4+
If 1..Kxd4 then
2. Qd6+ Kc3
3. Qf6+ winning black queen.
If 1..Kc5 then
2. Nb3+ Rxb3
3. Qc7+ Kb4
4. Qb6+ Kc3
5. Qf6+ again winning black queen.
1. c4+ Kxd4?
2. Qd6+ Kc3
3. Qxf6+ and black loses the queen.
1. c4+ Kc5 (only other square)
2. Nb3++! Rxb3
3. Qc7+ Kb4 (Kd4, see line above)
4. Qe7+ and black will lose the queen no matter which squares the black King goes to next. For example,
4. … Kc3
5. Qxf6+
OR
4. … Ka4 (or Ka5)
5. Qa7+
c4+ KxNd4
Qd6+ Kc3
Qxf6+ Kxd3
QxQa1
1.c4+ was the solution some weeks back. I do not know whether some political developments or climate changes have changed the solution.
Dear Pranav,
In your solution
1. c4+
If 1..Kc5 then
2. Nb3+ Rxb3
3. Qc7+ Kb4
4. Qb6+ does not work due to the response Ka3!
5. Qa5+. Kb2!
6. Qd2+. Kb1!
7. Qe1+ Ka2!
Now
8. Qd2+ Qb2! And black wins as the Qs are exchanged and B is a R up!
8. Qa5+ Ra3! 9. Qd2+ Qb2! And black wins as above.
4.Qe7+! Is the right move to keep BK away from a3. Otherwise good!
