Dramatic fourteenth round of TCEC Stage 2, Stockfish jumps ahead of Komodo, while Hannibal is back in the game


The fourteenth round of Stage 2 of the world’s strongest computer tournament TCEC was a real drama. Stockfish (3133) won against Naum (3013) and took the sole first position with 10.5/14 and better tiebreak ahead of Komodo. The other top placed engines Komodo (3131), Fire (2984) and Rybka (3076) made draws. The encounter between Gull (3031) and Rybka was extremely tense, you can replay it in the archive mode, the battle continued 120 moves. In the meantime Hannibal (2892) coped with Equinox (2956) and thus held the key eighth position. According to the rules of TCEC, only the top 8 will move on to Stage 3 of Season 6.
