What a pity Caruana wasn’t offered a place? Otherwise its Aronian or Kramnik – though I think only the latter might have a chance of beating Magnus (and what dull, dull chess that would be). Battle of the Petrovs.
Nakamura can beat any of these patzers.
I would recommend 1 additional player – Nakamura. Even if he is not playing candidates tournament, he is going to win the candidates tournament. Period:)
Prof. dr Andreikin is gonna be the dark horse of this tourney.

Aronian is still on his way up. I have my doubts that he could be Magnus, but I think the games would be even better than those against Anand this past year.
I would enjoy Kramnik too. That said, it would be nice to have a surprise like Andreikin or Mamedyarov. It’s so hard to know who to root for, they’re all fun personalities and great players.
