The 2013 International Styrian Open is taking place from 6th to 14th July at the Bad Gleichenberg region of Austria.

The organizers offer a prize fund of 25.000 euros, the highest of all Summer Opens in Austria. There will also be prizes for local players and different rating categories.

The event is valid for FIDE and it will be possible to get GM norms.

Among the 53 participants, eight countries are being represented. Serbian Milos Perunovic is the first seed, closely followed by Croatian Ante Brkic and Bulgarian Boris Chatalbashev.

The tournament is a 9 round Swiss open.
