Armenian chess ace Levon Aronian will take part in a new tournament commemorating Alexander Alekhine, the fourth French-Russian World Chess Champion who dominated chess in the 1930s and is considered to be one of the greatest chess players ever.

The organizers say the Alekhine Memorial is a 10-player single round robin tournament held jointly in the Louvre in Paris and the Russian State Museum in St.Petersburg between April 21 and May 1.

The line-up at the tournament includes reigning world champion Vishy Anand (India), current FIDE number two Vladimir Kramnik as well as Peter Svidler (Russia), Boris Gelfand (Israel), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Michael Adams (England) and others.
