The 13th Sahel Open Tournament was held on 19-24th December, in Bandar Abbas, center of Hormozgan Province, Iran. 73 participants, including 27 rated and 2 titled, competed.

Sayyed Hossein Daneshpour, 5th seed in the tournament, obtained the first place with 8 points from nine rounds. 

Ali Faghirnavaz and GM Homayoon Toufighi both finished with 7.5 points, but with better tiebreak score Faghirnavaz landed on the 2nd place. Toufighi defeated Daneshpour in the last round and finished third.

The tournament director was Hossein Ahmadi Sarkhooni and the chief arbiter was FA Shahram Salari.
