if ..Kf7 Ng5+ and Kg7 is the only move
With black threatening mate starting with Bd2, white must either check with his first move or get the king to a hiding place. Lets look at the latter idea first since I can see that it doesn’t works even without using my chessboard:
There are two ways I see to hide the king- h3 (making a hole at h2) or playing 1.Kf2:
1. h3 Bd2
2. Kh2 Nf1
3. Kh1 Ng3
4. Kh2 Qh1
5. Kg3 Be1
6. Kg4 Qg2#
Or
1. Kf2 Nd1
2. Kg3
Alternatives to this move follow. Cont.:
2. ….Qe5
3. Kh4 Bg5
4. Qg5 Qh2
5. Kg4 Nf2# Or
3. Kh3 Nf2
4. Bg5 Qg5

2. Kf1 and after looking at a lot of continuations, it finally dawned on me that taking at g5 was the simplest way to win since every other line eventually required Bg5 anyway (black’s own pieces kept getting in the way). Cont.:

4. f4 Nc3
5. Kf2 Ne4
6. Ke2 Qg1!
And there are nothing but mating nets that I see here. I will give the most obvious lines and leave the rest for others:
7. fg5 Qf2
8. Kd1 Qf1# Or
7. Kf3 Qf2
8. Ke4 Qf4# (8.Kg4 Qg2#)
In my next comment, I will look at attacking move for white’s first move.

There are two realistic checking moves-Qd7 and Ne6. The first of these looks like a draw by repetition to me, though, at first, I was excited with 2.Qh7:
1. Qd7 Kh6 (only move)
2. Qh7? Kg5
3. h4 Kf4 (Kf5 ok, too, IMO)
And, now, I don’t see a way to keep the black king from escaping through e5. In this line, the best white can do is to take the repetition draw with
2. Nf7 Kg7 (Kh5?? 3.Qh3#)
3. Ng5=
So, white already has a draw in hand. Lets look at the line that begins with Ne6:
1. Ne6 Kf7 (Kh6 2.Qg5#)
2. Qd7
The choices were already limited. Cont.:
2. …..Ne7 (Kg8 3.Qg7#)
3. Ng5
Here, Nd8 is a draw after Kf8. Cont.:
3. …..Kf8 (Kg8 and Kg7 are below)
4. Qd8 Kg7
5. Qe7 Kh6 (only move)
And the difference now between the earlier line is that the white queen can now check from f6-
