  white wins easily. kg6 stops checks, re6 forces re8 and rd6 and rd8 wins.

  White should win with 1. e7:

  Several lines, but here are 3 examples:

  1. … Kg7
  2. Ra6 Rh8
  3. Ke6 Rh6+
  4. Kd7 Rxa6
  5. e8(Q) etc.

  Or:

  1. … Ra5+
  2. Ke6 Ra6+
  3. Kf5 Ra5+
  4. Kg6 Ra8
  5. Rd6 etc.

  Or:

  1. … Re8
  2. Ke6 Kg7
  3. Rf7+ Kg8
  4. Kf6 Ra8
  5. Rg7+ Kh8
  6. Kf7 etc.

  This is a win for white after 1.e7

  The most important factor here is that the black K is cut off from the pawn, and the black R alone cannot hold off all the white pieces.

  If for example 1. … Kg7 2. Ra6! Rb8 3.Ke6

  i think 1.e7 is winning. If black checks the white king from the side, he can hide on g6 (Ke6-f5-g6).

  1. e7 Ra5+
  2.Ke6 Ra6+
  3.Kf5 Ra5+
  4.Kg6 Ra8
  5.Re6 Re8
  6.Kf6 Kh8
  7.Kf7 +-

  or

  1. e7 Re8
  2.Ke6 Ra8 (2…Kg7 3.Rf1 Ra8 4.Rg1+)
  3.Rg6+ Kh7
  4.Rg1 and Kf7 +-
