Legendary GM Boris Gulko, reigning US Open Champion and former Soviet and US Champion, and GM Gilberto Hernandez (head coach of the UTB chess team), one of the top Grandmasters from Mexico for many years, have been confirmed for the prestigious Reshevsky Memorial International Invitational Tournament. The tournament will be held at Texas Tech University from November 9 to 16, 2007.
SPICE and the Susan Polgar Foundation (SPF) are very thankful for the generous donation by Dr. Eric Moskow to make this outstanding event possible. He is not only a generous sponsor to various chess events around the world, but a formidable opponent to anyone as well. Dr. Moskow will personally take part in this inaugural International tournament at TTU.
More names will be announced as they are confirmed.
Excellent 2 choices so far. Looking forward to see Gulko in action.
Thanks Dr. Moskow! You’re supporting the right event. I see Susan as the only hope to make chess more popular in the US.
stI agree, I believe susan and paul are honest and texas tch lucky to get them, but my intentios are my im norm earned not bought, their integrity will allow my future success to be not challenged by bashers that question organizers integrity, play with the best and your safe, our interests are aligned, just hope to perfrom.sammy was a long time hero of mine.
Is Anon of 12.05 ‘passing off’ as E Moskow, or is it actually EM himself.
There seems to be an implication that this event might mistakenly be thought of as the first ‘E Moskow IM-norm event’ which is seriously mischevious, if the author is not EM himself. The thought had never crossed my mind.
Anyone know how is Eric doing in the South American event that he went to?
no it is the real em, I was doing good in peru, then the hurricane brought the tourney to an end, I am playing in miami, then argentina then this, keeping the home front warm and study with kaidanov sept 8-15 and miron sher at nights, no I said exactly what I meant, 1. susan is honest, 2. do not accuse me like on other blogs of buying a norm, now that I am close I am alligning with susan and paul as they are beyond reproach, not just being a patron
Good luck Dr. Moskow. I have faith that you will do it. Thanks Susan for being the best chess ambassador we’ve ever had.
