Description:

In February, Vigorosa Chess Team (http://evs.xadrezdigital.com/) organized a Chess Festival in Dolce Vita Mall, located next to FC Porto soccer stadium. The mall’s atrium was divided in 4 zones: tournament, playing, computer chess and giant chess zone. The first table of the tournaments was played in a DGT electronic chessboard and that game, in every round, was televised in the mall’s tv sets. And once it was Carnival, there was a mask contest for the younger chess players too.

In 4 days, about 400 people played more than 1000 chess games and only in the Wednesday that FC Porto played Chelsea FC for UEFA Champions League, it has been estimated by the Mall’s Administration that more than 5000 people have passed by the giant chess set.
