1. h4 wins.
I’d play 1.h4+ followd by 2.Qe4+
h4 🙂
Hoping Nakamura will turn things around and start winning against the top of the crop!
Cheers.

In your 2nd scenario the black queen can deliver a check on b2 that complicates things.
I immediately liked the two moves Be2 and h4, but had trouble finding the right order.
1. Be2? Qg6
2. h4+ Kf6
is nonsence, so I have to try
1. h4+ Kxh4 (Kg4? Be2+)
2. Be2 Qg5+ (enforced)
3. Kf1!
and what will black do now? Black seems surprisingly paralyzed, and can’t prevent Bxh5 etc.
1. Checking sack move
2. Non checking attack move
3. After self beeing checked, good prophylactic move wins
The idea with f4+ is correct, but it must be prepared properly:
1. h4+! Kxh4
1. … Kg4
2. Qe4+ Qf4
3. Qxf4#
2. Qe4+ Kg5
3. f4+ Kh4/g4
3. … Kh6 Qh7#
Since the white queen is on e4 now,
4. f5+! is possible with discovered check, which is the significant difference to the starting position.
4. … Kg5
5. Qf4#
1. h4+
if 1….Kxh4
2. Qe4+ Kg5

2. Be2+ etc.
